Edit a document with your agent
Your connected agent can read and edit a Strata document while you keep it open in the browser. Give it the document you want changed and tell it whether to apply edits or leave suggestions for you to review.
Connect your agent first
Use the setup guide to connect your MCP client to Strata and complete sign-in. The connection gives the agent access through your account; it does not make every document in your company available to it.
Revise an existing document
- Open the document in Strata and copy its link.
- Give your agent the link, the section to change, and any details it must preserve. Ask it to read the document before editing.
- Specify direct edits or suggested changes. For a reviewable draft, explicitly ask for suggestions.
- Keep the document open to inspect the result. Use Comments for discussion, Suggestions for proposed replacements, and History to inspect completed edits.
A prompt to try
Open this Strata document: [document link]. Read the introduction and findings. Suggest a shorter introduction without changing any numbers or claims in the findings. Leave the changes as suggestions for me to review.Check the result in Strata
A direct edit changes the shared document; it does not wait for you to accept it. A suggestion remains a proposal until accepted. If the agent cannot open the link, check which account it authorized and whether that account can access the document. Connecting an agent and granting document access are separate steps.
