Inspect and restore document history
Open History when you need to understand how a document changed or recover earlier content. You can inspect an entry before choosing whether to restore that version or undo just that change.
Inspect an earlier edit
- Open History for the document.
- Select an entry and use Show changes to inspect the difference. Use View full version when you need the surrounding document.
- Check the author and time as well as the text before choosing a recovery action.
Restore an entire version
Restore this version replaces the current document content with the selected historical version. Confirm only when you want the whole document to return to that state. The restoration creates a new history entry.
If collaborators have added useful work since that version, review it first. A whole-version restore is broader than undoing one unwanted edit.
Undo a specific change
Undo this change reverses that edit while keeping subsequent changes where possible. Strata warns if later edits touched the same content and the change cannot be cleanly undone. Review the conflict before applying an override.
When an old version is unavailable
History is retained within the window available to your account. The panel shows the oldest available version. Upgrading to a longer window applies to new edits; it cannot recover versions that have already collapsed.
