Share a document with collaborators
Use Share to give people access to a working document. Choose the role that matches what they need to do: read, comment, or edit.
Invite someone
- Open the document and choose Share.
- Enter the person’s email address and choose Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.
- Send the invitation. Check People with access to confirm the resulting access level.
- Send the document link to the collaborator so they can open the same document.
Choose and check the role
Viewer is for reading, Commenter is for feedback, and Editor is for changing the document. Your company’s sharing policy can limit the role you grant; check the role Strata reports after saving.
People with access also shows access inherited from a team. You cannot change that inherited role in the document’s role picker; manage the underlying team access instead.
Work in the same document
Collaborators edit the shared document, so you do not need to email a new file for each revision. Use comments to discuss a passage and suggestions when replacement wording should be reviewed before it is applied.
Sharing and publishing serve different purposes
A shared working document and a post on your public profile are separate surfaces. Use Publish to profile when you want a public reading edition. Unpublishing that edition does not revoke document access or disable existing share links; review those separately in Share.
